As Andy prepares to depart for college, Buzz, Woody and the rest of his loyal toys are troubled about their uncertain future. Directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”), “Toy Story 3” is a comical new adventure in Disney Digital 3D that lands the toys in a room full of untamed tots who can’t wait to get their sticky little fingers on these “new” toys. It’s pandemonium as they try to stay together, ensuring “no toy gets left behind.” Pixar veteran Darla K. Anderson ("Cars" and "Monsters, Inc.") produces, while Michael Arndt, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of "Little Miss Sunshine," brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities. In the Toy Story 3: The Video Game help Buzz, Woody and the rest of the Toys ensure no toy gets left behind. Dive into to all new heroic adventures in Story Mode or let your imagination run wild in the exiting new open world of Toy Box Mode! Come and play to infinity…and beyond.
Price: $19.99

Click here to buy from Amazon

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02490753040201946942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-252112377367588941.post-78409622647325127062012-08-06T10:02:00.003-07:002012-08-06T10:10:29.545-07:00Three Traffic Tactics that won't Cost You a CentEnglish: The three biggest web search engines (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Are you constantly banging your head in frustration on not receiving all the internet traffic you would like to get to your
web site? However, knowing how is the real deal. Here's the score:

1. Link it

Of all the effective website traffic tactics that can get you best results, linking to and from other websites is the one of the most widely-used method. Meta tags help search engines in describing your web page. If you're quite adept with the HTML aspect of your web pages, manipulating your meta tags would be a breeze.

3. Keyword-rich AND sensible content

Writing or acquiring articles that provide solid information regarding your business is one of the best ways. Making use of free keyword suggestion tools such as Overture will help you on which keyword or phrases to work on to better lead more traffic to your website. Making these write-ups very readable and genuinely informative will make you many repeat visitors to subsequently become repeat clients.

Submitting these articles to various article directory listings will provide more visibility for your business as long as you keep your resource box in tact to create for yourself numerous back links.

These methods, if employed properly, will not only make your web site popular but will make you achieve your most desirable result - higher conversion rate.
<div class="zemanta-related" style="margin-top: 20px; Are you experiencing an interminably long process in building your list through your Optin Page? If earning profit from your business is still somewhere in the distant future then you can use the Internet as a place to market your products online.

Internet marketers use article marketing and other similar methods to generate traffic and earn money online. If you are an Internet marketer, you can do this by composing an article that is related to your product or business and then providing links at the end of your article to your any or all of your business site, your own products, AdSense products, CPA leads, or affiliate items. This is a sure and tested strategy which can be used to accelerate your list building by increasing the flow of traffic to your optin page. The process can be slow and tedious, unless, you can make your articles viral.

There are proven ways to build an effective list fast:

Search for an article on the Internet that is doing well in the search engines; an article which is generating lots of traffic. Next, rewrite that article using the original keywords but rewrite it using your own style and presentation. Hopefully make an even better job of it. This will simulate the highly ranked article and eventually will let your article perform similarly.

You can also follow the link to their landing or squeeze pages and then emulate all that they are doing to generate massive traffic. The big secret of making money on the internet is to copy what successful people are already doing. Distribute your article to as many article sites as possible. There is software available to help you do this to hundreds of sites simultaneously.

Repeat the process again by selecting another top article in the same niche. If you do one a day for a month you will soon start to generate significant niche targeted traffic. Publicize your articles on Twitter and Facebook and encourage people to read them. If they like the article they will click through to your landing page and you stand a good chance of signing them up to your list.

The concept is to simulate or mimic exactly the method used by an established business by using their successful Internet marketing strategy to succeed in your own. Succeed in your list building and Optin page by using the methods used by these businesses.
<div class="zemanta-related" style="margin-top: 20px; However I don't write copy to please EVERYONE. I write to help people see more clearly in this WONDERFUL online Money Making Junkyard of ours.

SO, what would you do tomorrow, if you woke up, turned your computer on and found that your entire business had been HIJACKED?

No, I'm not talking about some deadly VIRUS wiping out your hard drive... I'm talking about relying on marketing strategies that are sometimes masquerading as an actual business model...

In fact, I'm talking about:

1. Facebook Advertising

2. AdSense blog/websites

3. Twitter Marketing

4. Google PPC

5. Google SEO ranking

6. CPA (cost-per-action)

7. YouTube Marketing

You see, the big Internet Marketing LIE is, Myth even - that if you somehow get involved in the NEXT Big launch, the NEXT big hyped up Facebook product, the NEXT big Google Amazing APP...you are somehow BUILDING your Internet Marketing Business, and moving it forward...but ARE YOU?

Let's rewind for a second here..

Surely, the most reliable & long term profitable Internet Marketing business model would be:

1) Build A Massive List

2) Build A Membership Site

3) Make your own products and get an army of Affiliates to sell them

NO?

I wonder, how many people are actually moving towards achieving this...

What would happen if Facebook closed your account tomorrow? What would happen if Google changed their Algorithm thingies and your websites, BIT the DUST... What would happen if YouTube just plain old didn't like you any more and DELETED your account? Can you see where I'm going with this?

I think we can all become VICTIMS of the great Internet Marketing HYPE A Market... Relying on BS - Business Strategies which are really Marketing Gimmicks.

Every few days, a NEW super Wonder Traffic strategy is BORN... "This will absolutely 100% Change your life FOREVER" - Like HELL it Will!

Instead of us thinking that these traffic strategies are OUR business, we should be concentrating on actually building the STRUCTURES of our business, and NOT relying on Google, Facebook, Twitter or the LATEST Wonder Launches, etc, etc to BE OUR Business.

These are just things that may or may NOT help to drive Traffic...they are not our ACTUAL business.

By building a massive list, you are building a STRONG long term business, you will have people to market to, no matter what happens to Facebook & Co. By building a membership site you will be building a strong monthly income for today, tomorrow & the future... By penning your own information products and using an army of affiliates to market them for you... THEY are doing all the Facebook, Twitter, Google, strategies for YOU!

Sure, we all love the Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google thingies...but these are just means to an end. If they disappear into the night one day, on the COAT TAILS of the latest Wonder Launch...it shouldn't be the END of YOU & your business!

Food for thought - or just plain SOUR Grapes...What do you think?

Want to learn more Money Making SECRETS? These are the ads on the right side of your search results.

There is a large learning curve on this style of marketing. You have to learn how to make people want to click? on your ad with very few words. You have very limited space to convey the product.

Also, you will need to watch the amount of money you want to spend on advertisement cost, some keywords are very competitive, which means you will spend a lot of money on the ad. Also, you might need to build multiple websites with this style of marketing.

Do not buy lists of e-mail addresses, they are a waste of money, and you could be turned in for spamming. Based upon this motivation, thousands of businesses fail each year, due primarily to not being familiar with the basics involved in running a business.

This report will enlighten you, and give you a number of suggestions you can use to better guarantee your chances for success. This report is written with the warning that any and every business venture contains certain inherent risks, and any number of alternatives. We do not espouse that any one way is the right way or that our suggestions are the only way. On the contrary, we advise that before investing any money in a business venture, you seek counselling and help from a qualified accountant and/or attorney.

Just about the first thing you should consider before deciding to start or purchase a business is the legal form you'll be operating under. There are basically four choices: sole proprietorship, partnership, limited partnership, and/or corporation.

Each has a number of advantages and disadvantages. We'll try to enumerate some of them for you.

As much as anything else, for many people starting a business is a form of ego-gratification, and they form a corporation for some sort of prestige gain - just to say, "I own a corporation."

With just a little bit of observation, you'll find that one of the major causes of business failures is due to the founder wasting start-up capital on frills, such as an impressive store- front office, expensive furnishings, and corporate legal costs.

One of the basic traits you must develop it you're going to be successful in business, is a tight hold on your expenditures. In fact, a good rule of thumb is that anything that does not make money for yo or protect your investment, should not be purchased at this time. Very definitely, this applies to the expense of setting up your own corporation.

Unless you have a partnership and start your business as such, the only real advantage to forming a corporation would appear to be that a corporate structure will semi-protect the property you personally own.

As an example, you own a home and car. You form a corporation to protect these possessions from business losses. Yet, if you can be found guilty of misusing corporate funds, your business creditors can pierce the corporate shield and come after your possessions.

Basically, if you invest everything you have in your business, as most newcomers do, you don't usually need a corporation because you have nothing to protect. Your household possessions, personal belongings, generally your car, and even a portion of the equity in your home is protected by the homestead provision of the Federal Bankruptcy Act, and cannot be taken away from you.

As a sole proprietor or partner of a business you'll be paying taxes on your overall earnings, much the same as if you were holding down a salaried or hourly paid job. Whether you do or don't take out money as a salary will have no bearing on the earnings of your business and tax return.

The often advertised advantage of incorporating, that you can manipulate your salary in order to save on tax dollars, is real because of corporation laws. However, the IRS frowns on this practice. When your business is successful and making a lot of money, definitely check with your accountant on the advantages of incorporating.

As a corporation, you'll be subject to a number of other drawbacks as well: generally higher state taxes, stricter laws concerning the operation of your business, more elaborate accounting procedures, and legal papers that are required just about every time you make a major move or sign almost any contract. Thus, your legal and accounting fees will be much higher as a corporation than will those required for a sole proprietorship type of business.

As a sole proprietor or partnership, you'll find many areas require the registration of your business name. The cost however, is minimal, ranging from $5 to $100. About the best way to find out what laws apply in your area, is to call your bank and ask if they need a fictitious name registration card or certificate in order for you to open a business account.

Selecting a name for your business is quite important to you and particularly relative to advertising. Your business name should describe the product or services you offer. Fancy names such as, Linda's Clipping Service will lose potential "walk-in and passing" customers to the beauty shop across the street that calls itself, Patti's Beauty Salon or Jane's Hair Styling Shop.

The advantage of using your full name in the title of your business, such as Johnny Jones' Meat Lockers, has the advantage of making credit somewhat easier to come by - provided you pay your bills on time - but it also includes the disadvantage of confining your services to a local or at most, a regional area.

Should you buy, lease, or rent a space for your business? think twice before you make any decision along these lines. Most businesses tend to grow quickly or they never get off the ground.

There are a few exceptions, but only a very few, that tend to grow at a modified rate.

So, buying a piece of property and setting up your business on or within that property, obligates you to ownership regardless of what happens to your business.

Leases are almost always very strong contracts written by attorneys to the advantage of the property-owner. When you sign an agreement to pay someone for the use of their space over any length of time, you're "nailed in" to paying for that space regardless of what happens to your business.

In the beginning, it's wise to either get the shortest-term lease possible, or arrange to rent with an option to lease at a later date. This does not apply to a retail business, unless your particular business happens to be an untried one.

Definitely, you should open a business bank account. In selecting a bank for your business, scout around and look for one that can, and will help you. Determine what your banking needs will be, and then via telephone, interview the managers of the banks in your area. The important convenient bank to your business location.

A point to remember: the closer you can make the relationship between you and the bank manager, the better your chances are going to be for approval on loans and/or special favors you may need at a later date.

Try to become acquainted with as many of the bank employees as possible. The better you know them, the more courtesies they'll be extending especially to you in the course of your association.

Just as a doctor is a specialist in his field, and you go to him for medical problems, your banker is a specialist in his field and you should go to him for your money problems. In business, you'll have to learn that everyone is an expert in his own line of work, and in your associations with other business people, refrain from acting like a "sharpie" and/or pretending that you know exactly how everything works in someone else's specialty.

You'll find that very often, different banks specialize in different types of businesses. As an example, you're sure to find banks that specialize in real estate transactions, export- import businesses, and even manufacturing operations only.

What I'm saying here is that if you're planning to sella fairly expensive item, your customers will probably need and/or want financing. It will behoove you to select a bank familiar with your type of product that will afford your customers, through you, contract financing.

Some of the questions you should ask of your banker include the following:

Is it necessary to maintain a certain balance in your account before the bank will approve a loan for you? What qualifications must you have in order to obtain a line of credit with the bank?

Does the bank limit the number of loans, or types of loans it will approve for small businesses?

What is the bank's policy regarding the size of a check you might deposit that requires holding for collection?

And what about checks less than that amount - will they be immediately credited to your account?

In almost all types of businesses, it will be to your benefit to set up with your bank, a method of handling VISA, Master Charge, and regional credit cards. The important thing here is to ultimately set up your account in the bank that will service all of these credit transactions for you - one stop for all your banking needs. In most instances, you'll find that having the capability to fill orders/make sales via credit card transactions, will increase your volume of sales appreciatively.

Once you've made the decision as to which bank is going to handle your account, you'll need your Social Security Number or your Federal Employer's Identification Number, your driver's license, the fictitious name certificate, and if you're requesting a VISA or Master Charge franchise, you'll also need a financial statement.

For corporations, you'll also need a corporate resolution approving of the opening of your business account.

There are different policies exercised in just about every state regarding installation/hook-up charges by the telephone and utility companies. Some require a deposit, and some don't.

You'll find that a great number of city business license departments are there solely for the purpose of collecting another tax. Depending on the type of business you're asking a license for, the building and zoning people may inspect your premises for soundness of structure and safety. Generally, you won't encounter any difficulties - you simply pay your fee to operate your business in that city, and the clerk types your name onto a city license certificate.

Relative to sales tax permits and licenses, each state's rules and regulations very widely. The best thing to do is call your state offices and ask for information concerning registry and collection procedures. Many states require an advance deposit or bond, and you'll find that some wholesalers or manufacturers will not sell to you at wholesale prices until you can show them your sales tax permit or number.

Should your business entail selling your products or services across state lines, in another state, you're not required to collect taxes except in those where you have offices or stores.

You may find also that your particular business requires the collection of Federal Excise Taxes. For information along these lines, check in with your local office of the Internal Revenue Service.

Some states also require certain businesses to hold state licenses, such as those required in many states for TV Repairmen.

These are known as "occupational permits" and are most often required of barbers, hair stylists, real estate people and a number of other consumer oriented businesses. If you have any doubts, check with your state offices for a list of those occupations that require licensing.

Any business doing business in any type of interstate commerce is subject to federal regulations, usually through the Federal Trade Commission. This means that any business that shops, sells or advertises in more than one state is subject to such regulation, and this includes even the smallest of mail order operations.

Normally, very few business people ever have and contact with the federal regulatory agencies. The only exceptions being when there is a question of your operating your business unethically or illegally.

Any business that sells or distributes food in any manner almost always requires a county health department permit. If your business falls into this category, simply call the county health department and invite them out to your place of business for an inspection. The fees generally range from about $25, depending on the size of your business when they first inspect it for permit approval.

There are also a number of businesses that require inspection by a fire marshall, and fire department approval. Generally, these are those that handle flammable materials or attract large numbers of people, such as a theater. Overall, the local fire department has to be allowed to inspect your premises whenever they desire to do so.

You may also run into a requirement for an air and/or water pollution control permit. These specifically apply to any business that burns anything, discharges anything into the sewers or waterways, or use any gas-producing product, such as a paint sprayer.

Without a doubt, you'll need to check on local regulations relating to advertising display signs. Each city or township makes its own rules and then enforces those rules according to its own thinking -check before you contract to have a sign made for your business.

The design and placement of your sign is very important to your business - specifically to retail establishments - but let me remind you that your business sign is usually the first thing a potential customer sees and as such, it should catch his eye and leave an impression that lasts. It would be a good idea to ride around your town and take a look at the signs that catch your eye, and try to determine the impression of the business that sign leaves on you. This is a basic learning formula for determining the design, size and placement of your business sign.

Some of the other things to consider before opening for business - If you intend to employ one or more employees, you'll be required to deduct Federal Income Taxes, and Social Security payments from their checks. This will involve your filing for a Federal Tax Number and necessitates contact with your local IRS Office.

Most states have "unemployment taxes" which will have to be deducted from the paychecks of any employees you hire. And there are a number of states that have income taxes - disability insurance - and any number of other taxes. Again, the best thing to do is check with your local office of the IRS. And above all else, don't forget to ask for the rules of the minimum wage law, and comply.

When your business grows to the point of needing additional help, don't be afraid to look for and hire the help you need. when you're ready to hire someone, simply run an ad in your local paper and/or register your needs with the local office of your state's employment service. Businesses either grow or die, and those that grow eventually need more people in order to continue growing.

When that time comes, hire the additional people you need, and your business will continue growing. If you don't, for whatever reason, you'll find yourself married to your business and your business growth stymied.

Regardless of how small your business is when you begin, never walk in with the thought in mind that it's something to keep you busy. Anyone with an attitude of that kind is a fool. You begin and make a business successful in order to realize financial freedom. And those businesses that require an operations manager, or someone to run a phase of the business you're too busy to handle, hire the person needed or the business will surely suffer.

To protect the investment of your business, you need business insurance. If you've never had any experience with business insurance, simply look under the heading of "business insurance" in your phone directory. Ask for bids from several different companies or agents...Primarily, you should have a policy that gives you general liability, fire, workmen's compensation, business interruption, and vehicle coverage. You amy also want coverage against possible losses related to burglary, robbery, Life & Accident, Key Man, and Fidelity Bonds.

As the sole proprietor of a business, you won't be paid as an employee, so there will be no income tax deducted from whatever you withdraw from the company's earnings. What you'll have to do is a gain check with the IRS Office for a Tax Guide For Small Businesses Handbook, and probably end up filing an estimated tax return on a quarterly basis.

The minute you open your doors for business, you'll have to spend some time engaged in the work of bookkeeping. Exactly how, and using what forms, you keep books, should be on the recommendations of a good tax counselor...The same holds true for your overall business and/or payroll accounting system. Look for an experienced CPA that knows the accounting problems to your particular kind of business, and solicit his advise/counseling.

If your business is going to involve the possible purchase or lease of operating equipment, again seek the help of your tax counselor for the most advantageous method of obtaining the needed equipment.

Basically, arranging for your suppliers to give you materials on credit will depend upon your honesty and personal financial statement. The best way is usually a personal visit to the person with the power to approve or disapprove of credit at the company where you want to set up a credit account. Show him your financial statement, and explain your prospects for success. Then assure him that you've always honored all of your obligations, and that if ever there's a question or problem, you'd like for him to call you at home. And of course, give him your home phone number.

We won't go into the exigencies of advertising your products, services or business here, but there is something along these lines you should always keep in mind. The best kind of advertising your business can receive is that you don't really pay for - publicity.

When something unusual happens to you, your business, or your employees - that's news, so be sure to tell the news media in your area about it.

The most important ingredient of your eventual success will be the soundness of the planning you did before you started your business. Any number of bad things can really throw your business into a tailspin, but it you've done your homework well - really set up a detailed business plan before starting - your losses or setbacks will be minimal. Success takes planning, and within this report, you've got a basic checklist...The rest is up to you...Good luck, and may your life overflow with success in all that you undertake from this moment forward.

Almost, every Economist stopped giving their valuable opinions on the recession and economic down turn across the globe. Many global banks, Companies declared bankruptcy and most glamorous CEOs are declared as worst CEO in the wake of the performance of their banks and companies.

Then, what is the reason for this phenomenon? Who is responsible for this unexpected 9/11 twin towers kind of crumble of the economy? What is the responsibility of HR Departments in this kind of casualties of Companies? How far HR departments can avoid this kind of drastic failure of system? They have publicized their companies as ideal and certified by every quality organization with regard to Corporate Governance, People Management and Financial Management.

HR is just a support function in any Company and it is the only function which gains confidence of the people and Management through the functioning style of the Head of the department.

How HR has to support the Management in this kind of situation?

The following action plan of HR will be effective while managing employee relations and acting as bridge between employees and Management.

o HR has to be proactive

o HR has to break the ice across the organization

o HR has to mingle with people without any inhibitions

o HR has to be outspoken

o HR has to do Management by Wandering Around (MBWA)

o HR Audit must be done periodically at least once in three months

o All kinds of steps must be taken for regular disbursement of pay and allowances

o Employees must be monitored to settle all financial dealings with the department immediately after returning from official tours and duties

o HR must function in such a manner to make the management understand the importance of Human Resources Department

o HR should always maintain proactive communication channels but not provocative communications styles

o HR must be always assertive and not aggressive

o HR must always inculcate productive interpersonal relations to mange team spirit

o HR has to bring new knowledge to the Company to make the Management understand the importance of training and development of all functions viz general management, Governance policies, financial management, sales and marketing management.

o HR has to take up the challenge of transforming Managers into Leaders

o HR has to strive to maintain emotional balance across the organization, enhance emotional intelligence and manage emotional quotient to create more result oriented and productive atmosphere

So, if HR cannot perform the above duties effectively, what will happen? Human Resources Department will become Humour Resources Department in the eyes of Employees as well as Management.

If the Company is declaring quarterly results without any problem and profit after tax (PAT) is increasing every financial year, that means HR Department is working effectively giving 'peace of mind' to its people and employee relations management, employee engagement are highly effective and productive.

What is 'peace of mind' to employees?

i) Regular disbursement of salaries without fail in coordination with Finance Department and Management.

ii) Regular appraisal of performance from time to time

iii) Rewards and Recognition Policies to motivate employees

iv) Celebrating life taking advantage of occasions such as Birthdays, Marriage Anniversaries and identifying achievers who regularly enhance their skills to enhance their position in the Company.

v) Proactive and positive behavioural patterns of HR will always empower people to speak out their mindset without any mental blocks

Then what is peace of mind to Management? Companies are always confused about the roles and responsibilities of Human Resources Department. HR is not productive and it will not produce any material to show physically to impress Management.

HR's role is like Lord Vishnu, who is one among the Trinity of Gods in Hindu Mythology. Among the Trinity of Gods Lord Brahma is the Creator, Lord Vishnu is the Sustainer and Lord Shiva is the Destroyer.

Lord Vishnu always protects the world from Raakshas i.e. Demons. Whenever, evil is flared up in the Society, Lord Vishnu rescues the righteous people and removes bad people. In the same way, HR department will remove 'the rotten apples' from the 'basket of organisation' to help productive people to become more proactive and result oriented and also to send a message that non-performers and disturbance creators will not be tolerated.

Lord Vishnu is the God of Sustenance. He will always strive to give peace of mind to the people to sustain the development by managing, engaging and enhancing the knowledge of people from time to time.

If the HR department is not a position to make the people feel the importance of their activities, it cannot garner the support of the Management. Every decision with regard to people management must go through the HR department to the people. If Management ignores the support of HR department and does not support HR Department, it will be sending wrong signals to the employees and they will be mismanaged for no fault of theirs. HR must gain respect from the Management and must be respected by one and all and also Management for its solid support to manage and enhance businesses without any kind of disturbance or obstruction.

No organization can sustain the development, if it cannot respect the support of HR department with mutual cooperation, motivation and admiration required from time to time.

In any organization HR must be treated as Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent for long life of the organization and to attract the loyalty of the people.

No Organisation will survive without the support of HR Department. And no HR department will survive without the support of the Management. They must have mutual respect, love, affection and admiration like Husband and Wife.

If this cannot be done effectively, Human Resources Department will become Humour Resources Department in the eyes of Management and Employees. It will become ineffective which may lead to indiscipline among the employees and finally collapse of the organization.

Individuals conceptualize revolutionary new products and new services with each passing minute of each day. Although there is such a steady stream of ideas that can be marketed successfully and developed into a lucrative business, there are actually few new businesses that make it past the "initial stages" into actual existence.

Why is this, and what factors contribute to the abandonment of great ideas that could've possibly netted the creators a small fortune?

There seem to be two major psychological forces at work when a great idea is abandoned before completion or a business fails for no apparent reason. These two psychological syndromes are:

1. Fear of Success 2. Fear of Failure

It is a very frightening prospect to start and maintain a home-based business. There's no doubt about that. And every business owner feels the "fear" of being responsible for their own destinies, and for their own futures. It's quite common, to be somewhat nervous and stressed about our businesses, especially in the beginning.

Conquering this fear is a necessity, however, as no one can be effective in a business if they allow the fear to overwhelm them.

Fear can be "healthy" in a way, as it can keep an individual alert and aware of any failures of the business, which thwarts problems before they start. Fear can also be "unhealthy" when an individual experiences such fear that it leads to inaction and the business never really gets off the ground as a result.

The two fears above seem to be the most prominent among new business owners. In the first, Fear of Success, a new business owner may have a great idea, and may develop every facet of the business thoroughly, yet they never seem to "open" the doors of the business. They may find excuse after excuse, why they can't really put the business into play, although all facets of the business are established. They may find that they run into repeated crises in their lives, sickness of themselves or a loved one, disasters that are not "really" disasters crop up repeatedly. This is simple Fear of Success, and part of a psychological pattern.

Although crises do occur to us all, we go on with life despite these, and no one has crises that are continuous. A business owner with this syndrome is merely afraid that success will "change" their lives and they are afraid they won't be able to cope with the changes. Of course, success will change someone's life. However, the Fear of Success can be so overwhelming, that some new business owners simply let the business fall by the wayside, thereby ensuring its failure. After all, if the business fails to get started or to succeed, they never have to face the reality of their "Fear of Success".

The second fear is just as detrimental as the Fear of Success. This fear is the Fear of Failure. This fear seems slightly more common and is characterized by the inability of future business owners to even get "started" with any plans or any concrete method of establishing a business. They constantly procrastinate in even the most simple of business chores. They fail to ever establish the business in any way, and for the most part are always promising to "start tomorrow", only tomorrow may never come. They also may jump from "idea to idea" always hatching a new plan for the next great business. Unfortunately, the plans are the only thing that is ever hatched, as nothing concrete ever materializes. They can be seen by their family and friends as mere "schemers"/ "daydreamers".

Occasionally, business owners can "waver" between the two fears, actually experiencing both Fear of Failure and Fear of Success simultaneously, becoming almost paralyzed with the emotions of all this, and unable to attend to the business with any degree of rationality. They can start businesses over and over, or make plans for businesses over and over, and yet never see any real degree of success.

These fears, like all other fears, can be overcome. There are many methods to use to overcome them:

1. A business owner needs to stop "projecting the worst case scenarios" onto the business. This is by far the most effective method. Business owners that worry too much about the worst happening, eventually make this projection a reality.

2. Business owners need to be realistic about the timeframe involved in success. A good business may take months or even years to stabilize.

3. Business owners need to be aware of their own feelings and motives. When "stalled" within a business, they have to question their own inner emotions and ask themselves if perhaps their emotions are overruling their own common sense.

4. A business owner will need to have as much personal and business support as possible behind them. This includes family, friends, and of course, other business people. Knowing we are not "alone" can easily alleviate misgivings and misconceptions.

5. A business owner should take time to relax and de-stress whenever needed. Fears become more palpable and real during times of extended stress.

6. Business owners should always have well thought out plans of action. Good plans reduce stress and the symptoms of stress, which exacerbate our fears overall.

It is best if any potential business owner addresses their fears and their approach to life as well as their motives before starting a new business. It is better to address any underlying issues prior to beginning a business, as addressing them while "within" the throes of a hectic business start up is difficult, if not impossible.

Remember all fears can be conquered, and it is better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all!

-----------
Vishal P. Most business owners read all the statistics (maybe more than once) before they open their doors. Many know the reasons why businesses fail. But some businesses operate under this paradigm: "failure can never happen to me because I know better." Is that you?

What most business owners miss is looking at the reasons for business failure and turning them into action steps to help overcome the odds of failure. How do I know? I once thought I knew better, too!

Bear in mind that even "adolescent" businesses fail. According to the SBA statistics, 90% of small businesses fail within the first five years. Many businesses aren't producing enough income because the business owners aren't "business wise." They may be excellent at a specific task -consulting, programming, massage therapy, web site design, copywriting, etc. Or they have a great product. But wise about the "business" of business, they are not!

In the past five years of my business, not one client (including those who have been in business for more than 10 years) provided me with a business plan to review. Not one! Two of 100 clients have had marketing plans, but marketing plans don't work without a business plan and other focus type tools, too. The other common (95%!) mistake I see (and help my clients correct) is pricing their services very low as a way to gain market share and new clients. So low, in fact, that a potential buyer will perceive the service or product as being cheap and of low quality, even when the provider offers years of expertise. NO ONE wants to hire a business that is cheap! Inexpensive - yes; affordable - yes; cheap - no, no, no!

The most common problems business owners experience stem from simple functions like streamlining, organizing, information resourcing, marketing, planning, visioning, languaging, communication, technology and ecommerce. Example: If you know that most businesses fail because they don't have a usable business plan, develop your own business and marketing plans and use them daily; don't create one that gathers dust on a shelf. I use the One Page Business Plan Book or Interactive CD by Jim Horan. It helps business owners create very realistic, focused, and well thought-out business and marketing plans, including scorecards to help you anticipate and avoid business problems.

Example 1: Recently, a client turned down an opportunity to teach computer classes on a subject she could easily teach. Using teaching to market her business is on her marketing plan. So why not? Well, the proposed classes weren't going to help her get business for her primary business, they weren't going to attract her ideal client, and the pay was much lower than her usual hourly rate. She felt confident about declining the offer. Of course, that same week, other new business - the type she really wanted - came her way!

Example 2: New client knows she wants to create a business plan. She also has a strategy of increasing her income by joining four organizations with networking opportunities for her to meet her ideal clients. She joins the first two groups - total cost: $400.

As she starts her business foundation work, which includes the One Page Business Plan, she realizes that her ideal client isn't whom she originally thought it was! Some clients might be found in the two groups she's already joined, but not her ideal clients. As a new business owner, she wants to spend her time around her ideal clients, first and foremost. Planning just a little more for her business would have saved her $400 in membership fees.

What other simple things can you do to build a solid business foundation?

? Use a one-page plan daily to create your to-do list and monitor your business.

? Create an Ideal Client Profile and Elevator Speech and define a niche for your business.

? Read one of the "E-myth Revisited" books by Michael Gerber.

? Go with your strengths. Hire individuals whose strengths ARE your weaknesses to "fill in the gaps."

? Remember that there is no need to repeat the SAME mistakes others have made.

? Know what your business exit strategy will be.

Most business owners don't know what they don't know. Get assistance by hiring non-biased professionals who help you realign with your vision, create plans and financial scorecards to monitor your business. Look for someone who can suggest resources to help you and your business grow. Someone who's been in your shoes and succeeded. Start looking at how having a partner - a business consultant, coach, counselor, strategist, organizer or planner - can help you grow your business.

Ready to learn more about business success? She had been in the horticulture industry for 10 years and was incredibly skilled at working with flowers and plants - one of the best. She also had great design skills, as well as good customer service skills. It's no secret that a large majority of small businesses fail in the first five years. The question is: Why do they fail and what can I do to prevent problems in my own business?

As we talked, we reviewed some of the common reasons why small businesses fail. Here are 14 top reasons, which might help you to determine why your business isn't growing and thriving. Some of them are related to learnable business skills; others relate to personal attitudes, habits, or self-sabotaging belief, which are not so easy to change, except through coaching or other self-development work.

1. Mistaking a business for a hobby: Just because you love something doesn't mean you should convert it into a business. Too often businesses fail because the owner feels their passion is shared by others. Research your business idea and make sure it's viable.

2. Poor planning: Yes, you must have a business plan. It can be a simple three-page plan or a huge 40-page plan. The point is that you've looked at all the aspects of your business and are prepared to handle problems when they arise. Your business plan helps you to focus on your goals and your vision, as well as setting out plans to accomplishing them. And don't get mellow - revisit and revise your business plan annually.

3. Entrepreneurial excitement: Entrepreneurs often get excited about new ideas, but are unable to determine if they're "true opportunities" and/or put them into practice. Test every new idea against your business plan and mission statement before deciding whether to undertake it or not, and ask yourself, Do I have the time and skill to implement this?

4. Putting all your eggs in one basket: Too often, small business owners will have just one product, one service or one big client. They cling tight to this one thing because it brings in good revenue. But what if the one thing disappears? Variety and diversification will cushion you against the ebb and flow of business tides.

5. Poor record keeping and financial controls: Yes, you have to keep financial and business records, you have to review your revenue and expense report each month, and you have to file taxes and other business-related filings. If you don't know how to do these, or don't want to, get help from someone who does.

6. Lack of experience in running a business or in the industry you're entering: There are so many hats you have to wear, from marketing and selling in order to run a business effectively. On top of that, you have to understand your industry, the skills required to offer your products and services, and the trends in the industry. If you don't know about these basic skills, educate yourself. Talk to others who are successfully running their own businesses, talk to industry leaders, get a book, find a website, get a coach, do your homework. And keep increasing your business and industry skills by attending classes or reading new books every year.

7. Poor money management: You need to be able to live for one to two years without income when getting started; often businesses are very slow to get off the ground. Also, you have to create and use a realistic business budget, and not constantly drain the business income on personal spending.

8. Wrong location: If your business runs out of commercial space, you need to make sure that you are convenient to your customers, and near to your suppliers and your employees.

9. Competition: Customers will go where they can find the best products and services. It's important for you to know who your competition is, what they have to offer, and what makes your own products or services better.

10. Procrastination and poor time management: Putting off tasks that you don't enjoy will sink your business faster than anything else. You can't afford to waste time on unimportant tasks while critical tasks pile up. All tasks need to be done; if you don't like to do them (or don't want to spend your time doing them), hire someone to do them for you. If your time management and prioritizing skills are rusty, hire a small business coach or take a class to help you.

11. Ineffective marketing: Learn the basics of marketing and make sure that you track the success or failure of each marketing technique you use, then dump those that aren't working.

12. Ineffective sales techniques: Once you have a potential client, you have to know how to lead them down the sales path. If you don't understand the basics of selling, get some education on it immediately. If a selling technique doesn't work, try another one.

13. Poor customer service: Once you have a customer, you have to keep them. There are two key points here - make sure you pay attention to what the customer wants (and how these wants can change over time), and make sure you provide quick return of phone calls and emails, proper billing, win-win problem solving and an overall pleasant demeanor.

14. Entrepreneurial burnout: owning your own business requires a huge investment of time, money, energy and emotion. It's easy to work long days and forget to take time off. But in the end, this only causes burnout where your motivation and creativity will suffer, and a pessimistic attitude prevails. You'll find yourself unable to balance your business and personal life, and both will suffer. Schedule self-care time into your work week and be religious about taking time off from your business.

Dunn and Bradstreet recently did a study and determined that "90% of small businesses that fail do so because of a lack of skills and knowledge on the part of the owner." However, D&B also did a study that showed that over 90% of small businesses were still in business after five years IF they had the help of a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) or other expert assistance. Creating a business plan is a business hurdle that entrepreneurs seem to dread. Do you do it yourself? Do you hire someone to do it? How do you get it done quickly, but without spending too much money on it? Will what you do yourself be adequate to get funding?

In this article I will discuss the pros and cons of do-it-yourself business planning versus having a business planning consultant do it for you or with you.

The Do It Yourself Business Plan

Particularly if you are seeking capital of less than $200,000, consider creating the plan yourself after taking a class or reading some books or getting some coaching for someone who has written successful business plans.

Consider taking a three-hour business planning class through SCORE or the local Small Business Development Center. Even if you decide afterwards not to write your own plan, you will have a much better idea of what you want out of the process and what to expect.

There are some good reasons for an entrepreneur to do the business plan:

First of all, because you can. If you've read sample business plans and find their accounting jargon intimidating, you are not alone. But as long as you can clearly get your message across and have other people such as you accountant look at the plan before it goes to lenders or others, you can do this work yourself.

It is in learning the business planning process that you develop analytical thinking skills necessary to run your business with an intimate understanding of your own business model. Going through the planning process is an invaluable business experience.

You need to know the plan inside and out and really understand the variables involved. You are the one who will be asked the tough questions by potential investors or lenders, such as "What will you do if only half your expected revenue comes in?" or "What will you do if you find out that direct mail is not working for you as your primary marketing tool?"

Outsourcing the Business Plan Process

Entrepreneurs are fire fighters. One of the most important jobs of an entrepreneur is to manage time, and do those things that you are best skilled to do. Many entrepreneurs decide to hire someone else to do their business plans, often because they have an urgent need for the funding and can't afford the learning curve to be able to develop a high-quality plan that will meet the needs of lenders or investors.

In addition, if your funding requirements are more than $500,000 my recommendation is to get some professional help with this project, even if you do some of it yourself.

Some reasons to consider hiring a consultant:

It will get done! Business planning is done much faster with someone who knows the process. Every entrepreneur has good intentions about getting plans completed, but months later they still haven't done all the work. Planning should be high priority work, but it is hard to get to when customer calls and employee problems require immediate attention. The sooner the plan is completed, the sooner funding can be attained. And the price of hiring the consultant will be small in comparison with the increases in growth and profitability of the business.

It will get done in a way financial professionals will respect. Business planning is done better by someone who knows how finance people look at plans and what they will and won't question. Once you've been through the business plan process many times, you know what it takes to get funding - what to emphasize and what to play down.

The consultant's objectivity will allow for non-emotionally-based projections and expectations for the business. A consultant will be much more objective in the process and question your assumptions, making it less likely that the business will have problems after the funding comes in.

No matter what, don't let a business planning consultant talk you into putting any information into your plan that you aren't comfortable with. If it doesn't look right to you, it probably isn't. It is your business, and you will be stuck with the plan long after you've paid the consultant's bill. Make sure it is the plan that you want, one that matches your goals and objectives, and captures the way you look at business and the spirit of your company.

If you do decide to hire a business planning consultant, here are some of the important questions to ask to make sure you get the greatest value from your investment:

How many business plans have you written for my type of business? How many of them were funded?

How much time will you need of mine during the planning process?

When will the plan be completed, and how many drafts should I expect to see and have the opportunity to comment on?

Will you be writing the plan yourself or do you have associates who do the work with you?

Will there be an opportunity for you to present the plan or for me to present the plan to my other advisors before the final draft is done?

How do you work in collaboration with my partners and advisors so their input is taken into consideration during the writing of the plan?

Do you do the market research and the financial spreadsheets, or are those things done separately (and charged for separately)?

Does your price include revisions or customization for certain types of funding (to include different information needed by investors versus lenders)?

Does your price include coaching to prepare me to talk with lenders or make financing presentations?

Will I have an electronic version as well as a hard copy version of the final plan (so I can make changes later if I need to)?

The Optimum Solution: A Blended Approach

At best, the planning process should not be at either end of the spectrum, but squarely in the middle. In my experience, plans that win funding come from a true collaboration between a skilled consultant/facilitator and the entrepreneur's team of employees and advisors.

A business planning consultant can act as a coach, first assessing the job to be done, and then recommending who is best to do it. The business plan should be a compilation of work between the vision and goals of the entrepreneur, the technical understanding and expertise of his or her accountant and other professionals, a consensus of employees or others, and the research and writing abilities of the business planning consultant. The consultant should meet with all parties involved, talk about what is needed for the plan, and use all the resources available to get the work done as quickly and cost effectively as possible. It is the consultant's responsibility in the process to take all the pieces and make the final plan into a readable, accessible document that will stand up to investor/lender scrutiny.

My final caveats:

Don't pay more than a few thousand dollars for a plan unless you are looking for capital of well over $1 million. I have heard more than a few horror stories by people who have hired university professors assuming they are the experts (they aren't) and paying tens of thousand of dollars for a poorly written or incomplete plan. Ask your banker for business planning consultant recommendations, or better yet, talk with someone who had a good experience having a business plan written for them. It is reasonable for a consultant to expect you to pay half of the fee up front and the other half at the completion of the plan. And you can't hold the consultant responsible if you don't get funding based on the plan - too much is based on your own credit and management skills.

Don't expect to get a finished plan that is a roadmap of everything you need to do to have a successful business. That isn't the purpose of the business planning process. A traditional business plan is intended only to document your strategies for the business very briefly - but well enough to get funding. If you are hoping for something that will tell you how to market or how many people you need to hire, you will have to start with a deep strategic planning process, and probably buy lots of consulting time to get you going.

Don't expect a great a business plan from a poor business model. If your costs are too high to make your business profitable, the business planning process will help you discover that. Then it will be up to you to make the hard decisions about changing your costs structure to make the business work. The business planning consultant is a skilled professional, not a miracle worker. A good business plan can help you highlight your strengths and minimize your weaknesses, but it cannot make an unworkable business model into a thriving business.

And one final thought: Don't go on to start a business or make changes in your current business if everything in the business planning process tells you it won't work. Things don't get better out in the real world if they don't work on paper. Deal with the weaknesses - get more training, consider product redevelopment, or have a home-based business to reduce costs until you can sustain the rent for an office. Businesses fail finally because they've run out of money. If your plan tells you that you can't make enough money to make the business work for the long run, pay attention to that reality.

About The Author

Jan B. Many of these people have an idea, a product or a service they hope to promote into an in come producing business which they can operate from their own homes.

If you are one of these people, here are some practical thoughts to consider before hanging out the "Open-for-Business" sign.

In areas zoned "Residential Only," your proposed business could be illegal. In many areas, zoning restrictions rule out home businesses involving the coming and going of many customers, clients or employees. Many businesses that sell or even store any thing for sale on the premises also fall into this category.

Be sure to check with your local zoning office to see how the ordinances in your particular area may affect your business plans. You may need a special permit to operate your business from your home; and you may find that making small changes in your plan will put you into the position of meeting zoning standards.

Many communities grant home occupation permits for businesses that involve typing, sewing and teaching, but turn thumbs down on requests from photographers, interior decorators and home-improve ment businesses to be run from the home. And often, even if you are permitted to use your home for a given business, there will be restrictions that you may need to take into consideration. By all means, work with your zoning people, and save yourself time, trouble and dollars.

One of the requirements imposed might be off-street parking for your customers or patrons. And, signs are generally forbidden in residential districts. If you teach, there is almost always a limit on the number of students you may have at any one time.

Obtaining zoning approval for your business, then, could be as simple as filling out an application, or it could involve a public hearing. The important points the zoning officials will consider will center around how your business will affect the neighborhood.

Will it increase the traffic noticeably on your street? Will there be a substantial in crease in noise? And how will your neighbors feel about this business alongside their homes?

To repeat, check into the zoning restrictions, and then check again to determine if you will need a city license. If you're selling something, you may need a vendor's license, and be required to collect sales taxes on your transactions. The sales tax requirement would result in the need for careful record keeping.

Licensing can be an involved process, and depending upon the type of business, it could even involve the inspection of your home to determine if it meets with local health and building and fire codes. Should this be the case, you will need t o bring your facilities up to the local standards. Usually this will involve some simple repairs or adjustments that you can either do personally, or hire out to a handyman at a nominal cost.

Still more items to consider: Will your homeowner's insurance cover the property and liability involved in your new business? This must definitely be resolved, so be sure to talk it over with your insurance agent.

Tax deductions, which were once one of the beauties of engaging in a home business, are not what they once were. To be eligible for business related deductions today, you must use that part of your home claimed exclusively and regularly as either the principal location of your business, or the place reserved to meet patients, clients or customers.

An interesting case in point: If you use your den or a spare bedroom as the principal place of business, working there from 8:00 to 5:00 every day, but permit your children to watch TV in that room during the evening hours, the IRS dictates that you cannot claim a deduction for that room as your office or place of business.

There are, however, a couple of exceptions we will note to the "exclusive use" rule. One is the storage of inventory in your home, where your home is the location of your trade or business, and approval for your business, then, could be as sour trade or business is the selling of products at retail or wholesale. According to the IRS, such storage space must be used on a regular basis, and be a separately identifiable space.

Another exception applies to day care services that are provided for children, the elderly, or physically or mentally handicapped. This exception applies only if the owner of the facility complies with the state laws for licensing.

To be eligible for business deductions, your business must be an activity under taken with the intent of making a profit. It's presumed you meet this requirement if your business makes a profit in any two years of a five-year period.

Once you are this far along, you can deduct business expenses such as supplies, subscriptions to professional journals, and an allowance for the business use of your car or truck. You can also claim deductions for home related business expenses such as utilities, and in some cases, even a new paint job for your home.

The IRS is going to treat the part of your home you use for business as though it were a separate piece of property. This means that you'll have to keep good records and take care not to mix business and personal matters. No specific method of record keeping is required, but your records must clearly justify any deductions you claim.

You can begin by calculating what percentage of the house is used for business, either by number of rooms or by area in square footage. Thus, if you use one of five rooms for your business, the business portion is 20 percent. If you run you r business out of a room that's 10 by 12 feet, and the total area of your home is 1,200 square feet, the business-space factor is 10 percent.

An extra computation is required if your business is a home day care center. This is one of the exempted activities in which the exclusive use rule doesn't apply. Check with your tax preparer and the IRS for an exact determination.

If you're a renter, you can deduct the part of your rent which is attributable to the business share of your house or apartment. Homeowners can take a deduction based on the depreciation of the business portion of their house.

There is a limit to the amount you can deduct. This is the amount equal to the gross income generated by the business, minus those home expenses you could deduct even if you weren't operating a business from your home. As an example, real estate taxes and mortgage interest are deductible regardless of any business activity in your home, so you must subtract from your business' gross income the percentage that's allocable to the business portion of your home. You thus arrive at the maximum amount for home-related business deductions.

If you are self-employed, you claim your business deductions on Schedule C, Profit (or Loss) for Business or Profession. The IRS emphasizes that claiming business-at-home deductions does not automatically trigger an audit of your tax return. Even so, it is always wise to keep meticulously within the proper guidelines, and of course keep detailed records if you claim business related expenses when you are working out of your home. You should discuss this aspect of your operation with your tax preparer or a person qualified in the field of small business tax requirements.

If your business earnings aren't subject to withholding tax, and your estimated federal taxes are $100 or more, you'll probably be filing a Declaration of Estimated Tax, Form 1040-ES. To complete this form, you will have to estimate your income for the coming year and also make a computation of the income tax and self-employment tax you will owe. The self-employment taxes pay for Social Security coverage.

If you have a salaried job covered by Social Security, the self-employment tax applies only to the amount of your home business income that, when added to your salary, reaches the current ceiling. When you file your Form 1040-ES, which is due April 15, you must make the first of four equal installment payments on your estimated tax bill.

Another good way to trim your taxes is by setting up a Keogh plan or an Individual Retirement Account. With either of these, you can shelter some of your home business income from taxes by investing it for your retirement.

Copyright 2004 Joe Featherston

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02490753040201946942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-252112377367588941.post-29459671398306110462010-10-13T00:46:00.000-07:002011-03-28T00:51:02.852-07:00The Desire For Money, Do You Have Business Sense?

For those of us who grew up with parents who worked for businesses rather than owned them, the world of business can be quite a mystery. Even more so if we've dared to try to start one of our own. There is the factor of what type of business to start - a product or service business. There are the issues of doing a good market analysis, licensing the business, understanding the codes of law governing businesses, and determining just what type of business structure to choose - especially if the business will have employees. For example, should we start a sole proprietorship or a corporate business? It's a lot to work on, and it's not an overnight process to the road of success. But, the most crucial challenge to whether a business succeeds or fails lies deep within the realm of emotional versus financial intelligence.

Many start-up businesses fail within the first year of existence. This is especially so with businesses started from home, or exist without the traditional bricks and mortar structure we are so accustomed to. And, far too often the reason many start-up businesses fail has to do with the emotional challenge the new business owner faces. The challenge of seeing him or her self now as a business owner, rather than a paid worker for someone else's business. It means dressing differently, thinking differently, and talking differently. It means believing that you are already successfully established even if you have a long ways to go on the business's balance sheet. To put simply, if the business owner doesn't have a firm belief and commitment in the business and his or her role as the owner, then others simply won't be convinced that this business is the place to get what they need.

Then, there is the crucial issue of having the financial intelligence to keep the business going in the direction the new owner desires. To put it simply, if the new business is only taking money to operate and not making money, it won't be long before the doors of opportunity become closed. No matter how much motivational self-talk and emotional pump-me-up the new business owner does, it is the results shown on the bottom line that determines the future of the new business. And, if the bottom line is steady generating a negative, the business will eventually lose. Far too many new business owner simply don't understand this simple fact and it's incredible impact upon the future of his or her business. And, far too many system based business endeavors, such as network marketing, fail to properly focus the majority of their teaching on this.

To keep the vision, motivation, commitment and, ultimately, the business alive, a start-up business owner must simply know the ins and outs of basic business accounting. The more he or she comprehends the principles of good financial management, the greater the chance of achieving the desired goals for the business. It is, ultimately, the financial bottom line the determines whether a business owner maintains the belief and dreams associated to his or her business. The financial bottom line determines just how much commitment to marketing and advertising the principal staff of the business will willing give. It's very encourage able to develop a love for numbers, especially when working with the basic additions, subtractions, multiplications, and divisions of the financial budget. Here's a recommended source to spur this number love: http://www.jtsef.com/financial.htm .

Many schools of thought teach that marketing and advertising is the key to success in any business. To their credit, there is a certain truth to this, because the market is a numbers game. The greater the numbers of people that know about the owner's business, it's products or services, the greater the chances of getting the sale. Understanding the numbers allows us to measure where we are and where we want to go. But, regardless how successful the new business owner is with marketing and advertising his or her business, no amount of business exposure alone can guarantee the success of the business. There are big businesses that are testimonies to this fact with their sudden bankruptcies at the time they seem to be at their greatest.

Ultimately, the deciding factor on whether a business succeeds or fails lies in the level of knowledge and expertise that the principle players of a business have with the business balance sheet. This level of knowledge also determines just how much belief the business owner has in his or her business, and how willing he or she is to make the necessary efforts and adjustments that steadily drive a business up to the road of success. And, once reaching this point where the customers and clients are knocking at the door and the money is rolling in, it is the degree of financial intelligence that will ultimately determine whether the business stays in business or not. And, no amount of motivational self-talk or marketing is likely to change this simple reality.

What this means for those who are just starting a business or are struggling to keep a business idea alive, is that it is imperative to develop a deep appreciation - if not love - for numbers and how these numbers play out on the business balance sheet. If the business is progressing in a positive way financially, the rest of the aspects to running a business will fill itself in over time. Isn't it a lot easier to learn the ends and outs of operating a successful business venture and maintaining the commitment and motivation to the business vision when the business is steadily in a financial growth? Something to seriously think about. Especially, if owning a business is an appealing idea, but is equally as much a mystery to the aspiring entrepreneur. The key to success ultimately is determined by the plusses and negatives found in the business's balance sheet. And, a focus on this will dispel many of the mysteries and emotional challenges to owning a business.

Joseph T Farkasdi is the President of JtseF, Inc. and is a member of the Financial Freedom Society. There are numerous home-based businesses out there but the sad part is that there are even more scams. If you can weed out those scams, the possibilities of legitimate home-based businesses are limitless. I am sure that you know several such success stories where people started their home-based business and went on to become successful millionaires.

In this article I am going to list top 4 legitimate home-based business opportunities available on the internet that can be started with little or no capital.

Information Product Promotion

People are hungry for information. There are thousands of paid information products available on the internet and marketers promote them every day as their full time business. If you are an expert on a topic, you can create your own product or you can promote other people's products as an affiliate. Many websites provide affiliate programs where you can promote products created by other people and earn 30% to even 90% commission. ClickBank is one such website that provides a variety of good quality product that sometimes can also be very easy to sell because all the work from developing a product to creating a sales page has already been done by experts and all you have to do is send visitors to the sales page through your affiliate link. This is probably one of the most profitable legitimate home-based businesses.

Services

There is a huge market on the internet for service providers and freelancers. If you have skills you can leverage on your entrepreneurial drive such as graphic designing, copywriting, web development or maybe you are a research expert - you will always be able to find a huge demand for your services.

Consultation

If you are an expert, having a legitimate home-based business should be no problem for you - you can provide your expert advice through consultation services. For instance if you are a child psychology expert or a business reputation management expert, you'll find that there are plenty of people out there who need your expert advice and are very willing to pay for it. Usually social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are great places to build credibility and find clients who need your help. Having a business website and writing for different publishing networks as an expert is a great way to promote your consultation business.

Blogging for Money

The best thing about making money with blogging is that you do not have to be an expert on your topics. Some bloggers would disagree with this but the fact is that there are many well monetized blogs that are not maintained by experts. You can monetize a blog by contextual and banner advertising using programs like Google AdSense. Lead based CPA offers - provided by sites like NeverBlueADS are also great for monetizing a blog. Another great way to monetize a blog is by posting paid reviews for other websites. There are different websites that can help you find clients who want to buy reviews on your blog. SponsoredReviews is one such service but there are many more out there. Last but not the least, you can promote affiliate products from your blog by posting reviews with your affiliate links. These are some of the reasons why blogging has gained so much popularity as one of the legitimate home-based businesses today.

Ses Peroy manages several websites on different topics such as Legitimate Home-Based Business and many others. So what's your strategy?

In this article we're going to have a look at a few of the crucial things to think about when planning your strategy in order to make money blogging.

What ways can you use to make money blogging?

First off you have to think about what you're going to be writing about as some topics, or niches, lend themselves more to some of the blog monetization methods that are about.

For instance, if you have a blog that has health as a broad topic you're going to have more opportunities to find affiliate products to use in conjunction with it. If you narrow that health niche down to something like 'weight loss for the over 30's' you'll tend to find that you get a tighter match between your blog posts and the AdSense ads being displayed.

If, however, you go to niche you may find that none of the main blog monetization methods are an option, and you have to create your own product in order to make money blogging.

What you want to write about is going to be vital to how you go about trying to make money blogging. Here are a few of the most common blog monetization methods, and a couple you may not know about.

Google AdSense: most people know about this method. While still popular, mostly due to the fact that it's so easy to setup and forget about, this method isn't as effective for most people as it once was.

People seem to have developed an 'ad blindness' when it comes to the usual places that you'd place your Google AdSense ads, so they aren't showing the same sort of returns as they were in the early to mid 'naughty's.

Still, making sure that any fresh content you add is very keyword orientated may make the ads more relevant and clickable, and with them being so easy to install, and see as having fresh content that's keyword orientated is a must, there's really nothing to lose by using it as one of your blog monetization methods.

Using contextual ads: this is a slightly less obtrusive method that may work better for you. The contextual ads look like normal hyperlinks in your blog post, but, they actually show ads as the reader passes the mouse over them.

This is great if it links a relevant ad to something that the reader is looking at, at that moment; the fresher it is in the mind the more likely they are to click through.

Using CPA offers: this method lets you get paid for people passing on a certain amount of personal information in exchange for a free gift or product. The amount you get paid is linked to the amount of information they have to giveaway i.e. you get far less for someone passing on a zip code than you do if they complete a survey.

One thing that can stop this from being the 'make money blogging' strategy of choice for many people is the fact that some of the CPA networks can be difficult to get approved to join.

Monetize your blog by becoming an affiliate and promoting other people's products. There are almost as many minuses about doing affiliate marketing as there are pluses - but only almost.

The biggest pluses about affiliate marketing are that you have a product in place to promote, the affiliate networks are nowhere near as difficult to be accepted into as the CPA networks, there's no fulfilment problems for you to worry about, and you don't have to deal with customers.

The big draw backs if you want to make money blogging and choose affiliate marketing are; the fact that you don't make 100% commission on the sales; the product could disappear at anytime, leaving you to look for another to promote; the fact that you aren't growing a buyers list; and you may have hundreds of other people to compete against to make your commission.

Create and sell your own product: this is possibly the only option if you decide to go for an obscure niche, but it has many benefits.

Unlike affiliate marketing you can be growing a list of buyers so that you can contact them when your next product is available, and you can keep all of the profits. You may decide to put it on one of the affiliate networks and have other people sell it.

What's the downside to creating your own product? You have to either spend the time, or the money, to get it developed. It may not be successful. If you join an affiliate network to sell it you'll be paying out up to 75% in commission per sale, but, just think of it this way, you aren't having to make those sales, and probably never would have sold to those people, so you're actually making a minimum of 25% because of those affiliates.

Make money blogging by getting people to download files. Ok, that sounds like it's going to be a scam of some type but, there are a number of (legitimate) file sharing sites where you'll be paid when people download from them. So, if you have a free product to give away you can put it on one of these sites and make money giving it away.

Using shortened URLs to make money blogging. There a number of companies that let you shorten long URL's, and they are especially good where you have a limited space to send a message e.g. Twitter, and some have come up with an interesting new idea.

Some of the places will show an ad before sending the people off to the site you're redirecting them to in the shortened URL. They don't have to sign up for anything in order for you to get paid, and they can press a button to move quickly past the advert.

One thing you could try is to send people, via the shortened URL, to the place where they're going to download your free gift. They get something for nothing and you get paid in two ways.

And there we have it, just a few ways for you to make money blogging.

Start with a plan of what you're going to be providing fresh content on, and then see what blog monetization methods are open to you. Remember, the wider the niche the more options you have open to you, but the tighter the niche the more targeted the buyers are likely to be.

So there you are there are always options available to make money blogging.

Do you have what it takes to be a sucessful Blogger?

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02490753040201946942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-252112377367588941.post-48097133095623343102010-08-05T15:38:00.000-07:002010-12-17T09:15:01.929-08:00Benefits of Buying on eBayImage by mahanim via Flickr

Are you one of the millions of Americans who prefers to shop online? Shopping online is popular because it is quick, easy, and convenient. It is also popular because, when shopping online, you have a number of different options, as there are a number of different retailers that you can choose to shop online with. One of those is eBay. If you aren’t already shopping on eBay, you may want to look into it, as there are a number of benefits to doing so.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of shopping on eBay is all of the products that you have to choose from. eBay isn’t like a traditional retailer. They are actually an online auction website. eBay has other internet users sell products that they have to consumers, just like you. With this type of set up, eBay has an unlimited number of products to choose from. For instance, you can buy real estate, cars, clothing, toys, pet supplies, home décor, entertainment items, and much more on eBay. Basically, anything you are looking for, within reason of course, you should be able to find on eBay.

Another one of the many benefits to shopping on eBay is that you have a number of sellers to do business with. As it was previously mentioned, eBay allows all internet users to sell items that they no longer need or want to own. Over the past few years, the popularity of eBay has reached an all time high. This is what has lead to an unlimited number of eBay sellers. Since many sellers are selling the same products or similar products, you should have the option to choose who you want to do business with. When buying a product online, particularly one that is offered for sale by a number of different sellers, you are advised to examine product costs, shipping and handling costs, as well as each seller’s feedback. Doing so will make shopping on eBay a positive experience for you.

It is also important to note that eBay is easy to use. In fact, ease of use is one of the many other reasons why eBay has become so popular in recent years. As an eBay buyer, you need to create a free eBay account. That account will allow you to buy on eBay. Once you are a registered eBay member, you can easily start searching for products that you are looking for. For instance, if you are looking for a particular music CD, you can just type the artist name and album name into eBay’s search box and you should be presented with a number of auctions which have your CD available for sale. If you are only looking to spend a certain amount of money or purchase a CD that is located in the United States, you can perform an advanced search. An advanced search makes it easier to find what you need.

The above mentioned benefits, to doing your online shopping through eBay, are just a few of the many that exist. In fact, even if you are unsure as to whether or not you want to start shopping on eBay, you are advised to at least examine it. eBay guests can navigate the site to get a taste of what items can commonly be found for sale on eBay. With a large selection of products, a number of sellers to choose from, and ease of use, there is a good chance that you may find yourself doing the bulk of your online shopping on eBay. And, if you end up doing so, you will definitely not be alone.

Related articles

eBay buys mobile app developer Critical Path (news.cnet.com)
